SurfStock is a 2 day Festival held on the scenic cliffs of St. Agnes in Cornwall. The festival has a capacity of 5000 people and a 6am licence on both nights.

For the event SkinSounds was contracted for the hire of our 50' by 30' Marquee and also Lighting Design and Hire for the prestigeous Music Evolution tent.

The Marquee was used for the Rabbit Hole stage as seen at Glastonbury and other festivals, where customers can embark on a mystical adventure down dark tunnels into other secret areas.

With Rae Chapman’s project as part of Transition at the Newlyn Art Gallery, we provided an Audio system to integrate several elements into an Audio, Visual and live performance display.

There was a mix of Live Musicians, Visuals from DVD playback and also Video from Apple’s Final Cut Pro, both projected onto the Gallery Wall. The exhibition ran for five days.

For the Peter Geschwind exhibition Automatic, we provided a similar system again to help integrate the visual and audio aspects of the show. The exhibition ran for a period of 12 weeks.

‘The first' solo UK show by the Swedish artist Peter Geschwind fully utilized the scale and industrial aesthetic of The Exchange. Western consumer culture was brought alive in an installation made of everyday household objects, construction material and power tools - all activated by sensors detecting the visitor’s movements.

At first this automated labyrinth is playful, an absurd amusement park, full of whistling and jangling noises, but as visitors explored deeper a darker undercurrent emerges. With projections and shadow-plays the physical room clashes with a hallucinatory, virtual world.’

“It has been invaluable having expertise in Penzance able to problem solve and provide solutions to AV requirements for our exhibition and events programme...”

Blair Todd, Exhibition Manager at Newlyn Art Gallery and The Exchange
